什麼是 MOD Music?

MOD是一種音樂格式—很類似波表 (Wavetable)，它有類似 MIDI 的結構，卻採用真實採樣，所以體積很小，但是播放出來卻是驚人動聽的電子音樂。因此，在波表流行之前，MOD是多人採用的。它最早出現在 Amiga 系列電腦上，後來逐漸流傳開來。在早期的DOS下面，採用MOD作為背景音樂的遊戲數不勝數，如果你在那時玩到的遊戲沒有討厭的 Buzzer 聲音, (因當時電腦遊戲/音樂很多使用 Buzzer， 有些用 Ad-Lib Card, Sound Blaster 都只是用 Synthesizer Chip 作音樂部分。) 而你沒有音源器 (Sound Module)，遊戲也沒有音軌 (CD Audio Track) 的話，那麼，多半就是MOD。

　　當然，現在所說的 MOD 已經不是傳統意義上的了，當時 MOD音樂有４個音軌，一般是 .mod ，現在則可以有很多很多音軌，格式就太多了，像什麼： .s3m，.nst，.669，.mtm，.xm，.it，.xt，.rt……等等。別看種類這麼多，但是本質上大同小異。現在比較流行的有 MOD，S3m，XM 和 IT 等。

這是在 MOD 年代的一首我最喜愛的音樂!! Enjoy it!!
